<p>The 2012 Student Publications Annual General Meeting took place on January 26th, 2012 in the Hawk&#8217;s Nest. At this meeting, the President and Board of Directors for the 2012-13 year were elected, along with a review of Student Publications&#8217; audited financial reports and a lecture from 570 News&#8217; Gary Doyle.</p>
<p>Emily Frost was elected to the position of President, Chair and Publisher. The following candidates were elected for Student Publications&#8217; 2012-13 board of directors:</p>
<ul>
<li>Kayla Darrach</li>
<li>Joseph McNinch-Pazzano</li>
<li>Tom Paddock</li>
<li>Jon Pryce</li>
</ul>
<p>Congrats to our new board and president, as well as all the candidates who ran for election.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Student Publications is pleased to announce the launch of its newest project, <strong>Laurier Student Poll</strong> (LSP). Laurier Student Poll is a market research group focusing on student public opinion and consumer behaviour at Laurier.</p>
<p>LSP begins its research in January 2012, with the Student Union (WLUSU) presidential election. It will survey students using in-person interviews, with questions customized to client needs. Using studies of approximately 300 to 600 respondents, LSP will publish official findings reports for stakeholders and release additional analyses online.</p>

<p>Please bring your payment to the sitting in cash, cheque or credit card. Failure to appear for your scheduled sitting without 24 hours notice will result in a $10 financial penalty for each appointment missed. </p>
