Started in 1926 as the College Cord, our flagship publication The Cord Weekly is an editorially independent newspaper hitting news stands every Wednesday. The paper prides itself on providing quality reporting about issues that matter to students. Keep up-to-date with the Laurier campus and surrounding community through this weekly paper.

The Cord is produced by a team of over 70 volunteers and an editorial board of 15.

The Blueprint is Laurier’s official student magazine, known for its engaging content and unique style. With its motto "students constructing culture", the Blueprint provides thought-provoking commentary on themes like mass culture, social issues, politics and recent trends. The magazine also serves as an outlet for students to express their talents in the form of artwork, poetry and photography.

The Blueprint is a quarterly magazine, with a special fifth issue for the Rainbow Centre being published for the first time this year. The themes and dates for this year’s issues are as follows:

  • June 26th   “Community” (Local, WLU, International)
  • September 25th   “Debauchery” (Good times, good friends, good stories)
  • October 23rd   “Special Issue” by the Rainbow Centre
  • November 13th   “War and Politics”
  • January 15th   “Taking Action” (Acting to change the world in ways big and small)
  • February 12th   “Environmental Issues”
  • March 12th   “Discovery” (The joy of learning, adventure, discovering)

The Keystone is Laurier’s annual yearbook. From Homecoming highlights to championship sportsgames to events on campus to grad photos, the Keystone marks a milestone in the lives of Laurier students.

The Keystone is available for purchase to students at the end of the year. It is also distributed free of charge to graduating students who have had their grad photos taken.

The WLU’er and the Orbiter are Laurier’s official student day planners, for the Waterloo and Brantford campuses respectively. They are provided free of charge to students.

Clublaurier.ca is WLU’s online network connecting students in an informative and highly addictive way. The site fosters a vibrant community where discussion forums range from student politics to current events. Want to complain about a course on campus? Want to debate about the student election?
